The GSP30A is now the GSP30B

We still get some questions about and requests for the GSP30A Label Printing Scale from Globe Equipment Company.

But we don't sell it anymore, because it is a legacy product.

The GSP30A has been replaced by the GSP30B. It's basically the same scale, but there is one key difference, and it is a major benefit.

No Connectivity Kit Needed with the GSP30B like it was with the GSP30A

The connections on the GSP30B are USB, instead of the serial connections that the A had. It basically means that it is easier to program, and doesn't require a connectivity kit to hook into your computer like the GSP30A did. That means it hooks into your PC just like anything else you plug into a USB port to format your labels, program the scale, etc.

Both work with and print the same labels:

  • E11 Standard
  • E12 Safe Handling
  • E13 Ingredient

Other Minor Differences

The two other minor practical differences we see are:

  • a bigger tray on the B (a full one inch deeper)
  • taller display (1/4" higher)
  • four less preset keys

But each of the preset keys store two items, so you've still got room for 168 presets.

The GSP30B, like the GSP30A, is still a great legal trade scale option, with good usability for both operators and customers. It's great for delis, candy stores, coffee shops and restaurants, and it is NTEP Approved and UL Listed.

If you find another site that still sells the GSP30A, it is old stock or used. If you need the GSP30B, you can find it here with free shipping

If you need help figuring out whether this scale is right for you, we can help with that too. It will get daily use in your operation, so it's important to understand how it will work before you buy it. Contact us, or give us a call at 800-972-4972.
