75+ Years in Restaurant Equipment and Supply

Globe’s story began in 1938 in NYC.  Brothers Sidney and David Ringelheim immigrated to the US and began their careers in foodservice supply by packing plates into crates with straw.

After a few years, they thought they’d try to sell the products familiar to them in Bridgeport, Connecticut—about 60 miles northeast of New York.

The brothers began doing what they knew best. David took orders from local restaurants, and Sidney drove to the Bowery in New York City each week in his station wagon to fill those orders.

By 1946, business had grown so much that they officially incorporated Globe Equipment Company.

The business has grown since then, from a local operation to one with a drafting, installation and delivery capabilities, a 10, 000 sq. ft. showroom in Connecticut, a website that ships products across the US, and customers on every continent except Antarctica.  We’re registered as an authorized GSA (Government Service Agency) distributor, and we’re an authorized online distributor for many of our manufacturers.

The Ringelheims started this business with a clear philosophy- “Quality products, quality people, quality relationships." A lot has changed since 1938, but that philosophy remains the same.

Our employees have been with us for an average of 15+ years.
